Winemaking and Maturation
Terracura was born out of the Swartland Revolution. Michael Roets purchased a concrete egg at the Swartland Revolution in 2010.
The Silwervis Chenin Blanc was released for the first time in 2011. Ryan Mostert joined the team as a winemaker in 2014 and held the position until 2021. In 2022, Chris Groenewald took over winemaking, taking the label to new heights.
The focus is - healthy soil, natural winemaking, and bottling something unique.
Tasting Notes
"Rose gold 2024 a textural wine from Swartland semillon gris, rare red-skinned mutation of semillon, made in 525L Zeppelin PVC ‘egg’. Complex fruit array - yellow peach, nectarine, pear & hint sour cherry - in waxy body with gentle chalky tannins. Improves on last tasted NV, will appeal even more with deserved ageing." - Penny Setti, 95/100
