product description
Jean-Baptiste Souillard Saint-Joseph Le Chavanat 2022
Vineyards
Le Chavanat, Saint-Étienne-de-Valoux, Saint-Joseph, northern Rhône, France. Syrah grows on mid-slope terraces with a southeast exposure and decomposed granite soils.
Winemaking and Maturation
The cuvée is traditionally fermented with native yeasts in stainless steel, retaining a proportion of whole bunches. Maturation in used oak barrels develops its texture before bottling without fining or filtration.
Tasting Notes
Early picking helps preserve elegance in the fruit. Freshness and structure are central to the style, with a savoury character that makes this a natural wine for the table.
