product description

Terracura Silwervis Chenin Blanc 2017

Vineyards

Paardeberg, Swartland, South Africa. Sourced from a single Chenin Blanc vineyard planted in 1964 on decomposed granite soils.

Winemaking and Maturation

Whole bunches were pressed into stainless steel for fermentation. The wine then matured for 12 months in concrete egg, followed by a further 12 months in stainless steel before bottling. This extended maturation is central to the distinctive Silwervis style.

Tasting Notes

Citrus, apricot and pineapple introduce an intensely flavoured palate. Concentrated fruit is balanced by lively acidity, with a pithy finish providing definition and structure.

Vintage rating: 92/100 — Christian Eedes, Winemag, 2019. Tasting note paraphrased from the original review.
