Winemaking and Maturation
Winemaking is kept simple – foot-treading, minimal sulphur and old oak. The range of wine incorporates Sauvignon Blanc from St. Helena Bay, Carignan, Grenache and Viura from the Breedekloof. There are two more special blocks of wine that Natasha planted stok-by-paaltjie in Noordhoek, one Syrah and one a field blend of Grenache Blanc, Verdelho, Chenin Blanc, Colombar, Roussanne and Semillon. Both blocks are organically farmed.
Tasting Notes
The Alinea Carignan is elegant and seductive. The wine is perfumed with aromas of cherry blossom, violets and crushed berries. The palate shows layers of red fruit – sour cherry, strawberry, raspberry and pomegranate. The finish is bone dry and crisp.
