Angus Paul Wines MESAS Muscat Blanc 2022
Muscat is the liquid manifestation of a Mediterranean Saturday morning. Grapes that drink the sunshine and transfuse the strong rays into equally bold flavours.
Winemaking and Maturation
Hand picked and chilled overnight. All of the grapes were fermented on the skins and whole bunches (around 50%) for 10 days. No sulphur was applied at crushing.
An evelage in older barrels followed this & continued for 6 months with no racking, battonage or sulphur additions. Filtered and bottled in October 2022.
This wine confidently speaks (but doesn’t shout) of sea salt, apricots, and candied lemon. The palate is at first chewy and flavoursome as a wine gum, but closes in a gastronomic note when the fine grape tannins and the final salty, nutty twang pull through.
90% Muscat blanc; 10% Semillon
