Antoine Jobard represents the fifth generation of this Meursault family. First, he worked alongside his father, François, and then took full responsibility for the domaine. Today, he makes focused white Burgundy and also works organic Pinot Noir parcels in Beaune, Volnay and Pommard.

Vineyards

Jobard draws this village Pommard from organic Pinot Noir parcels. He leased the vineyards from the former Domaine André Mussy in 2019. These clay and limestone sites broadened the domaine's historic focus on white wine. As a result, Jobard now makes a characterful red that joins Pommard depth with his careful style.

Winemaking and Maturation

First, Jobard removes all the stems. Then, he gives the grapes a five-day cold soak and a ten-day fermentation. Next, he matures the wine in barrel for 12 months. He keeps new oak to 20%, so pure red fruit stays at the centre. Finally, the barrels add soft spice and a smooth frame.

Tasting Notes

Juicy cherry, raspberry and strawberry lead the aroma. In addition, vanilla, sweet spice and a light earthy note add warmth. The palate feels balanced and open, with clear fruit and fine tannins. Meanwhile, fresh acidity runs through the centre. Finally, the long finish returns to red cherry and soft spice.
