Certified organic, 70+ year old vineyards from the mid-slope of the BUtte Hillside are in the northern sector of Bourgueil, with south exposure. Topsoil is the thinnest here, and the limestone is very close to the surface.
Winemaking and Maturation
- De-stemmed
- Indigenous yeasts
- Fermented and aged in barrels (20% new, 80% 1-2 year old barrels)
- Unfined and unfiltered
Tasting Notes
Nose: Savoury, dark and spicy. Ripe cherries, fabulous fruit quality.
Palate: Deep concentration of dark berry fruit with a wound-up mid-palate and firm tannin structure. The finish is extremely fresh and juicy.
