Klein Constantia Chardonnay 2016
Our unique terroir and cool climate consistently provides concentrated grapes full of flavour with a distinct freshness enabling us to produce a Chardonnay which is crisp with an enticing complexity.
Winemaking and Maturation
In order to reflect the terroir, the wine was made with a minimalistic approach using nautral yeast . Alcoholic fermentation started in stainless steel tanks, it was completed in a combination of 30% new French oak barrels. After 9 months on the gross lees the wine was blended, settled and bottled after minimal filtration.
Bright in colour with flavours of limes and apples on the nose. The palate is medium bodied, well balanced and is lifted by a mineral freshness. Textured in its structure, the wine is rounded off by a long rich finish.
