Naude Family Wines Cinsault 2015
Vineyards
From a farm just outside of Darling and vines that were planted in 1978, these old vineyards are impeccably maintained and produce an astounding quality of fruit. The key is to get the correct picking date and the wine takes care of itself.
Winemaking and Maturation
This wine was made with minimal interference, no additions barring some sulphites, and has the potential to age for 30+ years.
The grapes were grown in the rocky soils of the Swartland and were hand-picked, fermented with natural yeasts and aged for 12 months in old oak barrels.
Tasting Notes
Complex bouquet of floral and red fruit notes, such as rose petals, raspberries and cranberries. On the palate, it has a medium-bodied structure with moderate acidity and a soft tannin finish. It is a well-balanced wine, with a perfect harmony between fruit and earthy flavours. The wine is versatile and pairs well with a variety of dishes such as grilled meats, poultry and pasta.
