From a farm just outside of Darling and vines that were planted in 1978, these old vineyards are impeccably maintained and produce an astounding quality of fruit. The key is to get the correct picking date and the wine takes care of itself. Fragrant and elegant, showing the classic Cape Cinsault characteristics of red berries and Turkish Delight. This wine was made with minimal interference, no additions barring some sulphites, and has the potential to age for 30+ years.

Naude Family Wines Werfdans Cinsault 2016 is a red wine from the Western Cape region of South Africa. Made from 100% Cinsault grapes, this wine is known for its delicate and nuanced flavor profile. The grapes were grown in the rocky soils of the Swartland and were hand-picked, fermented with natural yeasts and aged for 12 months in old oak barrels.

This Cinsault offers a complex bouquet of floral and red fruit notes, such as rose petals, raspberries and cranberries. On the palate, it has a medium-bodied structure with moderate acidity and a soft tannin finish. It is a well-balanced wine, with a perfect harmony between fruit and earthy flavors. The wine is versatile and pairs well with a variety of dishes such as grilled meats, poultry and pasta. The 2016 vintage is a well-crafted wine that showcases the unique characteristics of the Cinsault grape variety and the terroir of the Western Cape.
