product description

Terracura Silwervis Chenin Blanc 2012 Double Magnum

Vineyards

Swartland, South Africa.

Winemaking and Maturation

Silwervis began with a concrete egg purchased by Michael Roets at the 2010 Swartland Revolution. The published account of the 2012 vintage records 85% concrete egg and 15% barrel, reflecting the vessels at the heart of the project’s early years.

This three-litre double magnum offers an unusual large-format bottling of an early Silwervis Chenin Blanc vintage.

Tasting Notes

The original vintage review describes ripe apple and pear, complemented by peach and citrus. Generous texture is balanced by freshness and finesse. This historical assessment relates to the vintage, rather than a recent tasting of the three-litre bottle.

Vintage rating: 93/100 — Jamie Goode, Wineanorak. Tasting note paraphrased from the original review.
