Winemaking and Maturation
Terracura was born out of the Swartland Revolution. Michael Roets purchased a concrete egg at the Swartland Revolution in 2010.
The Silwervis Chenin Blanc was released for the first time in 2011. Ryan Mostert joined the team as a winemaker in 2014 and held the position until 2021. In 2022, Chris Groenewald took over winemaking, taking the label to new heights.
The focus is - healthy soil, natural winemaking, and bottling something unique.
Tasting Notes
"From Paardeberg vineyards, 67% from Sky (kept on skins for three days) and 33% from Kweperfontein (on skins for five days). Intense notes of potpourri and fynbos before citrus, peach and apricot plus ginger and other spice. Good fruit integrity, bright acidity and a finish that is lightly grippy in texture, saline in flavour. An “orange wine” but not as stylistically extreme as some.
