Winemaking and Maturation
Terracura was born out of the Swartland Revolution. Michael Roets purchased a concrete egg at the Swartland Revolution in 2010.
The Silwervis Chenin Blanc was released for the first time in 2011. Ryan Mostert joined the team as a winemaker in 2014 and held the position until 2021. In 2022, Chris Groenewald took over winemaking, taking the label to new heights.
The focus is – healthy soil, natural winemaking, and bottling something unique.
Tasting Notes
‘The nose shows dark, macerated fruit – initially also notes of violets, herbs and pepper but these fade. Concentrated fruit with moderate acidity and fine tannins – a bit ponderous. Alc: 12.5%.’ – Christian Eedes, Winemag.co.za
‘Fine and floral on the nose with lovely cherry and strawberry, as well as a hint of black olive. In the mouth this is silky and rounded with a lovely freshness to the fruit – all strawberries and cherries with a nice fruit sweetness.
