Winemaking and Maturation

Made by Chris Groenewald, the 2024 marks the return of Terracura Syrah following the 2017 vintage. The grapes underwent 100% whole-bunch fermentation.

Terracura traces its beginnings to the Swartland Revolution, where founder Michael Roets purchased a concrete egg in 2010. This release continues the project’s focus on distinctive wines with a strong sense of origin.

Tasting Notes

Red and dark berry aromas are lifted by rose and fynbos, with pepper and cured-meat nuances adding savoury complexity. Juicy fruit, fresh acidity and delicate tannins create an energetic palate. Light to medium in body, the wine combines fragrant appeal with balance and finesse.
