LALU
LaLu – two highly talented winegrowers, Lara and Luisa, cultivate their slopes around Barolo with the utmost care and respect for their terroir – farming organically. This results in fine, Burgundian-style Barolo without losing the authentic Barolo charm. Lara and Luisa worked with multiple very exciting and high-profile producers during their studies, namely Trediberri, Cecile Tremblay and Comtes Lafon.
Lalu produces three wines: Barbera d’Alba, Langhe Nebbiolo, and a Barolo from Le Coste di Monforte. The wines burst with complexity, density and power, balancing elegance and freshness. Lalu also experiments with fermenting parts of the stems.
Lalu works with the upper part of the Le Coste di Monforte MGA. A top location, which historically is the birthplace of the Monfortino of Giacomo Conterno. The fruit for the Langhe Nebbiolo is harvested from the Barolo MGA “Roncaglie, in La Morra, famous for delicate and fragrant wines.
