LENUZZA VINEYARDS
In the summer of 2017, Tanika, a South African, and Daniele Lenuzza, an Italian, met and embarked on an extraordinary journey. Daniele, third-generation winemaker and owner of Vigna Lenuzza in Friuli, joined forces with Tanika to pursue their dream of establishing a project in South Africa.
Drawn to the breathtaking, mystic Hemel-en-Aarde Ridge and the rustic charm of Swartland, they were inspired by these two iconic wine regions.
They produce Pinot Noir from Hemel-en-Aarde Ridge and Old Bush Vine Chenin Blanc from Swartland, employing low-intervention winemaking and sustainable farming.
The Pinot Noir is made with 30% whole clusters and aged for 15 months in French oak, creating an elegant wine that combines ‘New World’ character with ‘Old World’ elegance. The Chenin Blanc is aged for 12 months in concrete eggs, resulting in a vibrant, mineral-rich, and energetic wine that reflects the land’s strength and uniqueness.
Our ‘Wines of Place’ embodies a simple yet profound idea, deeply rooted in intention and appreciation for South Africa’s unique wine-growing regions. Each chosen vineyard site has distinct characteristics and ideal microclimates for certain cultivars.
Here, terroir becomes the poetry, where expression sings and the vineyard site narrates its story each vintage.
