RENE GEOFFROY

The roots of the Geoffroy family date back to the 17th century, from Cumières, a village in the heart of the Vallée de la Marne. The few hectares of vineyards that their ancestors cultivated and handed down from generation to generation provide the link to their Champagnes.

At the beginning of the 1950s Roger Geoffroy and his wife Julienne decided to take the plunge into winemaking and produced their first bottles: the Roger Geoffroy brand was born. René Geoffroy, their son, who loved the land, soon succeeded his father, who died suddenly and too young. An owner-grower to his soul, he acquired new vines, and with the help of his wife Bernadette, they developed and promoted their brand.

At the end of the 1980s, Jean-Baptiste joined the family estate. After completing his education at viticultural school, he perfected his craft working side by side with his father.

Now, the wines of Champagne Rene Geoffroy are famous the world over. The wines are linear, pure and delicate as the style forgoes malolactic fermentation to encourage freshness and purity in the base wines. These wines are intensely vinous and reward the patient consumer as they unfold gorgeously after cellaring.
