Stephane Tissot

Domaine André et Mireille Tissot – Bénédicte et Stéphane Tissot is one of the defining estates of the Jura, a region that has moved from obscurity to global relevance in recent years. Based in Arbois, Stéphane Tissot has been instrumental in that shift, producing wines that combine precision, energy, and a deep respect for place.

The domaine farms an extensive, diverse range of terroirs across Arbois and Montigny-lès-Arsures, with soils ranging from limestone to marl and clay. Viticulture is certified organic and biodynamic, with a strong focus on soil health and vineyard expression.

In the cellar, the approach is both thoughtful and flexible. Fermentations are spontaneous with indigenous yeasts, and élevage varies by cuvée – from ouillé (topped-up) styles that emphasise freshness and fruit purity, to sous voile ageing that adds structure, salinity, and oxidative complexity. Intervention is minimal, but always precise.

What defines Stéphane Tissot is clarity of expression. Whites that range from tensile, mineral Chardonnay to profound Savagnin, shaped by long ageing under flor. Reds that are vibrant, lifted, and finely structured, often from Poulsard, Trousseau, and Pinot Noir. Across the range, there is energy, texture, and a distinct sense of Jura identity.

Production is limited, and demand continues to grow as the region gains wider recognition. Yet the wines remain grounded – authentic reflections of Jura’s unique landscape and traditions.

This is Jura at its most compelling – pure, distinctive, and quietly radical.
