VIÑA MEMORIAS
Viña Memorias is a family winery located at the appellation Utiel-Requena, with a privileged high-altitude terroir 70 km inland from the Mediterranean city of Valencia. It was founded in 2016 in the spirit of preserving their family heritage, hundred year old Bobal vineyards, and to re-writing the modern history of the wines of their protected designation. Viña Memorias practices organic and strictly rain-fed farming for their old goblet-trained vineyards.
They elaborate single varietal wines, a process that begins with their farmers in each of the old bush vines, paying attention to every detail and using both traditional techniques and the latest technology for maximum quality control. In their facilities, their winemaker Daniel Expósito handcrafts wines with minimal intervention and a distinct identity, reflecting their terroir and over 2500 years of winemaking tradition.
Their old vineyards are their true identity
Viña Memorias’ vineyards are made up of old bush vines, more than 65 years old, which are carefully tended by the finest winegrowers. Their star variety is the Bobal grape, a unique indigenous grape from the Utiel-Requena region that provides us with singular wines, especially suitable for ageing.
In their selected vineyards, there are white grapes varieties such as the Macabeo, Merseguera, Tardana, but also Sauvignon Blanc and Chadonnay.
