Angus Paul Transient Lands Chenin Blanc 2025

Transient Lands brings together Chenin Blanc from three granitic sites across Stellenbosch, combining the depth of mature vines with the freshness and energy of younger plantings. The result is a layered, vibrant expression of the variety, shaped by both place and vine age.

Vineyards

The blend comes from three distinctive vineyards:

• 52% Helderberg: Fantamtango vineyard, with 45- and 6-year-old vines
• 32% Polkadraai Hills: Flight vineyard, with 37- and 7-year-old vines
• 16% Bottelary Hills: Barbary vineyard, with 53-year-old vines

Together, these granitic sites bring depth, brightness and a clear sense of place. The older vines add concentration, while the younger plantings provide lift and freshness.

Winemaking and Maturation

Angus whole-bunch pressed the grapes to capture purity and gentle texture. He then matured 50% of the wine in concrete and the remaining 50% in older oak. As a result, the wine balances freshness and structure without losing its vibrant fruit character.

Finally, Angus bottled the wine in December 2025.

Tasting Notes

The nose opens with yellow apple, pear and fresh citrus peel. In addition, subtle floral and savoury notes bring extra complexity. The palate offers generous concentration, bright acidity and a fine, stony texture. Finally, a long and clean finish highlights the wine’s freshness and balance.
