The cellar team selects grapes from approximately 40 crus across Champagne. Pinot Noir from Les Riceys brings freshness, structure and a distinctive red-fruit character to the blend.

Winemaking and Maturation

Charles Heidsieck combines 40% Pinot Noir, 35% Chardonnay and 25% Meunier. Still red wine accounts for approximately 5% to 6% of the blend and adds colour, tannin and vibrant berry flavours.

Reserve wines can contribute up to 35% of the cuvée and have an average age of five years. The cellar team uses only first-press juice and vinifies each cru and grape variety separately, primarily in stainless-steel tanks.

The bottles mature on their lees for approximately three to four years in Charles Heidsieck’s ancient chalk cellars. This extended ageing creates fine bubbles, aromatic complexity and a smooth texture.

Tasting Notes

The wine displays a sophisticated powder-pink colour with luminous wild-rose highlights. Fine, lively bubbles rise steadily through the glass.

The nose opens with strawberry preserve and vineyard peach before developing warm notes of gingerbread and gentle spice. The palate delivers generous flavours of strawberry, raspberry and blackberry, supported by a smooth, creamy texture and a precise finish.
