Winemaking and Maturation
Fresh, aromatic and balanced with vibrant fruit, Krug 2003 was born from a challenging and eventful year in Champagne. Reminiscent of the intense sun and heat of the growing season, while possessing a vivacious energy and infinite finesse, the Tasting Committee nicknamed this champagne “Vivacious Radiance.” Krug 2003 is a fresh, balanced and expressive blend of Pinot Noir (46%), Chardonnay (29%), and Meunier (25%).
Tasting Notes
‘Medium golden yellow, lively, fine mousse. A hint of brioche, a touch of honey and herbs, delicate wood aromas, underpinned by fine lemon nuances, stone fruit notes of ripe greengages, a delicately nutty bouquet.
On the palate, taut, tightly knit, initially white fruit nuances, very lively structure, followed by mature notes, some caramel and candied orange zest, dark notes of walnuts and bergamot, in the finish a hint of pink grapefruit and salty minerality.’ – Falstaff, 96/100
