Vineyards
Ampuis, Côte-Rôtie, northern Rhône, France. La Giroflarie brings together fruit from terraced vineyard parcels across the appellation, with varied soils including mica schist and gneiss.
Winemaking and Maturation
Syrah and a small proportion of Viognier are fermented together after destemming. Wine is matured in oak barrels of different sizes before the final blend is bottled.
Tasting Notes
Ripe berries and plum are lifted by violet and gentle spice. Fine tannins give the palate a silky feel, while subtle oak adds depth. This 1.5-litre magnum is a generous format for sharing.
