Radikon Slatnik 2023 is a textured orange wine made from 80% Chardonnay and 20% Tocai Friulano. Produced in Oslavia, it brings together generous fruit, citrus freshness and a savoury finish. Skin contact adds depth and gentle tannins, making this a versatile white wine for the table.

Vineyards

The grapes come from Radikon’s organically farmed vineyards in Oslavia, near Italy’s border with Slovenia. Chardonnay and Friulano are harvested by hand for this blend, which forms part of Saša Radikon’s S range.

Winemaking and Maturation

The grapes are destemmed and fermented together with native yeasts in oak vats. Around 10–14 days of skin contact develop colour and texture.

The wine then matures in large Slavonian oak casks before bottling without filtration. A small addition of sulphur is made at bottling.

Tasting Notes

Golden in colour with amber reflections, Slatnik offers citrus peel and floral notes alongside a rounded, generous palate. Fresh acidity balances its richness, with gentle tannins and a savoury mineral character adding definition.

Suggested pairings include roast chicken, creamy mushroom pasta, grilled fish and mature cheeses.
