product description

Terracura Syrah 2014

Vineyards

Swartland, South Africa. According to Jamie Goode’s vintage report, the grapes came from the same farm as the vineyard behind Mullineux’s Iron Syrah.

Winemaking and Maturation

The 2014 is Terracura’s first Syrah vintage, predating the label’s commercial debut. It remained unreleased when Jamie Goode tasted it in November 2019, providing an early glimpse of the project’s direction.

Tasting Notes

Black cherry is accompanied by pepper, olive and fynbos, with a savoury, iron-like undertone. The historical review describes a focused, juicy wine with a distinctly savoury finish.

Vintage rating: 94/100 — Jamie Goode, Wineanorak, tasted November 2019. Tasting note paraphrased from the original review.
