product description

Terracura Syrah 2015

Vineyards

Swartland, South Africa. Sourced from six vineyards across the region, including the Paardeberg, Kasteelberg and the area around Malmesbury.

Winemaking and Maturation

Terracura’s first commercially released Syrah was made by Ryan Mostert with a restrained approach. Maturation used concrete eggs and older oak barrels, with no new oak, allowing the wine’s fruit and savoury character to remain prominent.

Tasting Notes

Lifted redcurrant and cherry with floral notes and a subtle vanilla impression. A fresh, restrained palate is framed by delicate tannins and a persistent finish.

Vintage rating: 94/100 — Christian Eedes, Winemag, 2017. Tasting note paraphrased from the original review.
