Winemaking and Maturation
This is a unique wine, and not a typical Beaujolais. The Gamay is treated in much the same way as a Burgundian Pinot Noir. With zero carbonic maceration and French oak treatment. Unique in that it's made like traditional red burgundy and aged in large oak founders for one year.
Tasting Notes
Complex, flinty nose. Volcanic ash, flint, petrichor, smoked plum, clove, fresh wild berries, subtle hint of fresh green herbs underneath it all on the palate. The mouthfeel is well delineated, really shapely, still young with some fuzzy tannins and punchy acid but wow the finish is amazing. Long and expansive and clean and goes on forever. The depth to the flavours of this wine is impressive. Hold for a while as this wine will only improve with age.
